I just got back from a trip to Baltimore for a business conference. It was cold and a bit dreary, but the steel grey ocean and muted lighting were gorgeous. There was century old architecture juxtaposed with sleek modern buildings; cobblestone streets and copper roof caps near curved sweeping structures and glass mosaic-like walls. It was this airy proportion of detail and space, old and modern, seaport and modern commerce that inspired this series in twisted copper and soft steely blue sesame jasper.

Next to the opportunity to visit with my brother and sister-in-law, the food in Baltimore was superb! Being landlocked in Utah, I devoured loads of seafood that week! The cherry blossoms were also on display. So, both flora and fauna made their way into my designs. :)

I certainly ate more than my fair share of creme brulee and cheesecake while I was there. I think the sweetness of those dishes added to the delightful air of these pieces, too.
One of the places I had the pleasure of lunching in was a wonderful Lebanese restaurant. Open airy architecture with large windows and wide spaces accented with just the right touch of Middle Eastern flair in details like the beautiful lantern collections. Out of this inspiration grew these lovely chandelier earrings, which I have to say are my favorite of all! Do you have a favorite?
